Triangle IP, the company behind the TIP Tool™, has successfully completed a SOC 2 Type 2 audit. The TIP Tool™ is an idea and patent management software that democratizes patent mining with simplicity, transparency and easy collaboration among IP teams. Threatsys Technologies carried out the audit, which covered a full year from 1 August 2025 to 31 July 2026. The certificate was issued on 16 September 2026 and stays valid until 15 September 2027. What Is SOC 2 Type 2?
SOC 2 is a security standard created by the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants (AICPA). It checks how a software company protects the customer data it stores and handles.
There are two types of SOC 2 reports. A Type 1 report looks at whether security controls are well designed on a single day. A Type 2 report checks whether those controls actually worked over a longer stretch of time.
What the Auditors Checked
The audit covered all five areas SOC 2 can include. Here is what each one means for the ideas and patent files you keep in TIP.
Security: The platform is protected against break-ins and unauthorized access from outside.
Availability: The platform stays up and working when your IP team needs it.
Processing Integrity: The data you enter is handled completely and accurately, without being changed along the way.
Confidentiality: Sensitive information, like portfolio strategy and draft claims, stays limited to the people meant to see it.
Privacy: Personal details are handled according to our privacy policy, from collection all the way to deletion.
